IDEMIA Secure Transactions has partnered with Vantiva to accelerate the deployment of 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) services, fostering digital inclusion and expanding internet access globally. This collaboration combines IDEMIA’s advanced eSIM technology with Vantiva’s expertise in Consumer Premises Equipment (CPE), providing high-speed internet and TV services with seamless connectivity and improved network performance for residential and business customers.
Formerly known as Technicolor, Vantiva is a global leader in innovative products for the connected home market, including broadband gateways and set-top boxes. This partnership will see IDEMIA’s latest eSIM technology integrated into Vantiva’s 5G FWA portfolio, simplifying connectivity and reducing the need for pre-provisioned SIM cards or QR codes for service activation. The initiative aims to make it easier for network service providers to deploy FWA services while enhancing the home experience.
FWA is increasingly recognized as a sustainable solution for providing full internet access, especially in areas where fiber or cable infrastructure is limited. By embedding IDEMIA’s eSIM technology into Vantiva’s 5G-enabled residential gateways, users in urban, suburban, and rural regions can enjoy high-speed broadband services without additional infrastructure. This is particularly beneficial for families in rural areas, who will gain access to fast internet and TV services, improving their ability to stream, work remotely, and participate in online learning.
Philippe DE OLIVEIRA, SVP of Automotive & IoT at IDEMIA Secure Transactions, said, “This collaboration will securely connect more people and businesses to broadband, opening up new opportunities.” Thibaud Lepage, FWA CPE Product Line Director at Vantiva, added that the partnership will enhance their 5G FWA portfolio, benefiting network service providers with simplified processes, cost efficiency, and future-proof technology.
