Carmona City in Cavite is about to experience a world-class and technology-based interactive classroom with the introduction of the 21st Century Learning Environment Model (21st CLEM), according to the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in Calabarzon. This will be the province’s first 21st CLEM and the 28th throughout the country.
Under the initiative, Angelo L. Loyola Senior High School (ALLSHS) will get a new, technologically advanced classroom, thanks to Josephine Feliciano of the DOST-Science Education Institute. In order to satisfy the changing demands of 21st-century learning, it incorporates digital technology and sophisticated teaching tools.
Some of the features of this classroom include interactive ICT resources, virtual and augmented reality systems, robotics equipment, and 3D modeling and printing tools. When it comes to tables and chairs, this school will be provided with flexible equipment, such as ergonomic chairs and tables that can be customized.
“This environment fosters collaborative learning, using immersive technologies to bridge the gap between educators and students,” Feliciano said.
The project is expected to cost between PHP2 million and PHP3 million, of which 70 to 80 percent will be paid for by the local government of Carmona City and the remaining amount by DOST.
A ceremonial transition will be held on October 14, during DOST-Calabarzon’s Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week.
